About Us

McKenna Publishing Group was founded in 2001 to bring heretofore published and unpublished authors of nonfiction to print. McKenna's publisher and editors have been in the publishing business since 1996.

We specialize in nonfiction, but we do publish some well-written, high-quality fiction each year. This year we’ve published several works of fiction, and our latest was released in October, 2006. A Line Between Friends is Michele Cozzens’ first novel, and it is so well-written and so well-structured that it took first place in our fiction contest.

Authors are not required to be represented by agents, and may submit their manuscripts directly to us when following our submission guidelines. And we ask that writers who wish to make a submission read our submission guidelines very carefully. We only publish authors who reside in the United States, and only those who can make the time and have the ability to actively promote their book.

McKenna Publishing Group is a division of Sligo Literary Agency, LLC, which has Corporate offices in Indian Wells, CA, and a mailing address in San Luis Obispo, CA. We bring to print ten to twelve new titles each year, and each author is expected to work with the publisher to actively promote their books at signings and in other unique ways utilizing local and regional print, radio, television and other media interviews and appearances. Promotion of a book requires a strong partnership between publisher and author.

Foreign rights sales are extremely important to us, and listed below are most of our agents: Marco Vigevani in Italy, Thomas Schlueck in Germany, AJA in France, The English Agency, Japan Uni, Tuttle Mori, Asano Agency, and Motovun  Co Ltd. in Japan (non-exclusive), Riff Agency in Brazil, Pikarski Agency in Israel, Synopsis Literary Agency in Russia, The Drummond Agency in Australia, Read n Right in Greece, Nurcihan Kesim in Turkey, Jai-Xi Books in China (non-exclusive) and Andrew Nurnberg in Bulgaria. These are not all, but the majority of our co-agents abroad. Income from foreign rights sales (split 50/50 between author and publisher) is an important percentage of a book’s profit.

We welcome authors whose work is well-written, and who believe in their work enough to be aggressive with its promotional success.

For review copies of our books, please email us at: ric@mckennapubgrp.com  and request the title you wish. Please identify yourself and your publication.
