Submission Guidelines

For both fiction and nonfiction authors, we request that prior to making a snail-mail submission of your work, you first email us at ric@mckennapubgrp.com with a simple email query letter (no attachments please--we do not open attachments unless the author is under contract) addressed to Eric Bollinger, Publisher, McKenna Publishing Group.

In your initial email query, please provide the following:

*Your name, address and email address.

*A brief synopsis of your work. Note: We do not publish children's books or poetry.

*Its length. We prefer works under 250 double-spaced pages.

*Your qualifications for writing this work.

*The market and audience for it.

*Other books you know written on the subject.

*Your ability to promote the work if published. We expect our authors to actively promote their works at book signings, on the radio, television and other unique events. We do not accept submissions from authors who reside outside of the United States, and who cannnot actively promote their work in the United States.

If you receive an email back from us indicating we would like to give your work a read, we ask that you follow these guidelines:

*Include a cover letter to the publisher describing our email correspondence and our acceptance of your submission.
*Mail it in a US Priority pouch mailer (not a box) if possible.
*Put your name and the title of the work on the outside of the mailer.
*Include a SASE with postage affixed if you wish the work returned to you should that be necessary. Note: Do not use metered mail that is good only on the date of purchase. We will not return your ms to you if there is not sufficient and good postage included.
*Double-space the ms, and print on one side of the page only. Do not bind the ms.
*Put your last name and a key word from the title top left, and page numbers from one to the end top right.
*Always include its synopsis.
*Always include your email address with your cover letter.
